Waddup, humans? Kurumi here! And welcome to the Mobile Legends Boot Camp! In this video, we are going to talk about the Northern Vale hero, Popol and Kupa Popol and Kupa have a good set of area-of-effect, buff, crowd-control, and burst skills Our Icefield Companions, Popol and Kupa, is a marksman hero I consider Popol and Kupa as an effective pushing hero, since Popol has his friendly animal companion, Kupa, to push with him Not only that, Kupa inherits Popol’s attributes and item effects which makes him ferocious as well Now, let me share some tips and tricks on how to use Popol and Kupa based on my experience We will also teach you some combos and techniques on the latter part of this boot camp But before that, let me explain his skills one by one for further understanding Popol and Kupa’s passive, We Are Friends, makes Popol fight side by side with Kupa If Kupa didn’t receive any damage for the last 5 seconds, he will regenerate a percentage of his max health continuously When Kupa is killed, Popol could use his 1st or 2nd skill to pray, and summon Popol back in the battlefield for a few seconds After 4 consecutive attacks by Kupa to an enemy, Popol’s next basic attack will deal more damage to the enemy You can monitor the number of attacks made by Kupa on the indicator under your health bar Kupa’s health and attributes are based on Popol’s health and attributes, including equipment effects Roaming and jungling item effects, and Active skills from items won’t be inherited by Kupa Popol and Kupa’s first skill, Bite ’em, Kupa!, lets Popol throw a spear at the target Using this skill will let Popol throw his spear towards a target, and will deal a certain amount of Physical Damage The target hit with his spear will be bitten by Kupa which will deal a certain amount of Physical Damage, and attacking the enemy continuously for a short period When Popol and Kupa are both under the buff of his ultimate skill, Kupa’s bite will deal an additional stun effect to the target with rapid 3 bites Popol and Kupa’s second skill, Kupa, Help!, lets Popol call Kupa to protect him Using this skill lets Popol gain a shield, deals damage to enemies nearby and slowing them for a few while Kupa will be assisting Popol to attack nearby enemies for a short period When Popol and Kupa are both under the buff of his ultimate skill, Kupa will be knocking up the enemy airborne and deal more damage as additional effects Popol and Kupa’s third skill, Popol’s Surprise, lets Popol set a trap on a target location Using this skill will let Popol plant a trap to a neary target location The trap can last for a minute Enemies who step on it will detonate the trap and will immobilize them after a short delay The detonation will create a frost zone that will reduce enemy’s movement speed The frost zone lasts for a few seconds Popol can store up to 3 trap charges He gains a charge after a few while depending on this skill’s level He can set up to 3 active traps in the battlefield Popol and Kupa’s ultimate skill, We Are Angry!, lets Popol and Kupa both become enraged Using this skill will have both Popol and Kupa enraged for a short while Both of them gain additional attack and movement speed This also lets Kupa enter the Alpha Wolf Form, which will restore Kupa’s full health points, increase his max Health by a certain amount, boost of his Physical attack, and enhance his other skills as mentioned on the 1st and 2nd skill a while ago There are so many items that you can buy for Popol and Kupa You can focus on items that grants Physical Attack, Extra Damage effects, Critical Hit Chance and Damage, and items that gives you Attack Speed You can focus on the “Pusha-rama” build if you want to be objective on pushing turrets to gain a precious star
You can also focus on “Jungle Beings” build if you choose to farm more in the jungle But let’s focus on the Kurumi Way further As for starting item, you can consider buying Hunter Knife This will grant you additional experience and damage to jungle monsters This is a great item in early game, since it will help you level up faster while killing jungle monsters For your kicks, just buy 1 pair of Swift Boots even if Popol and Kupa have 6 feet Swift Boots grants additional attack speed and movement speed Having additional attack speed will make your attacks faster This will let you deal lots of attacks, specially during team fights You can consider buying Demon Hunter Sword This item gives you Physical Attack and Attack Speed Its unique passive will give a bonus effect on your basic attack This bonus effect will deal a percentage of target’s current health points, as additional Physical Damage Demon Hunter Sword’s another unique passive grants a certain percentage of lifesteal for a few seconds on each basic attack This effect stacks up to 5 times Buying attack items such as Endless Battle, can boost your damage effectively This item gives you additional physical attack, health, mana regen, lifesteal, movement speed, and cooldown reduction Its unique passive grants you additional true damage on your next basic attack, after using a skill Triggering the passive of this skill also grants you additional movement speed This is really good specially both Popol and Kupa could trigger the unique passive and both deal True Damage You also might want to consider Scarlet Phantom This item grants physical attack, attack speed, and critical chance Its unique passive grants you additional attack speed and critical chance, after dealing a critical hit to an enemy This buff lasts for a few seconds You can consider buying Berserker’s Fury This item gives you additional physical attack and critical chance Its unique passive grants you additional critical damage on your critical hits Also, dealing critical hits will increase your physical attack by a certain amount, for a short period of time Lastly, you might want to consider Blade of Despair This item grants additional physical attack and movement speed Its unique passive will give you additional physical attack, when the target’s health is below a certain percentage The movement speed bonus can also help you chase enemies, or escape death The item build for Popol and Kupa really depends on the enemy’s line up So make sure to read each item’s description so you can adapt in-game One of the best spells to be used on Popol and Kupa is Sprint This can really help you run from danger, or chase enemies You can also consider Retribution This will deal True Damage to the target minion or jungle monster When you have a jungling item, having this spell will decrease the damage taken from jungle monsters, permanently This spell will help you farm more gold faster Building items quickly in the early game will give you advantage against enemies, making it for you to prey easier on squishy targets like marksman and mage You can also consider Flameshot Using this spell will knockback enemies hit near you, reduce their movement speed, and will deal certain amount of Magic Damage This will be helpful on pushing back enemies chasing you, or you can use this to deal the finishing blow to the enemies In my opinion, the best emblem set to be used is the Custom Marksman Emblem set Custom Marksman Emblem could provide extra stats according to your needs as a Marksman Set Greed to its Max level because it can give you Physical Lifesteal Higher Physical Lifesteal means more health will be regenerated when you deal basic attacks Setting Doom to max level will provide you additional Critical Damage Higher Critical Damage means higher damage on your critical hits Get Weakness Finder to have the chance to slow enemies The effect will greatly reduce target’s movement speed and attack speed This effect has a short cooldown For me, it’s the best thing to get since this can help you chase fleeing enemies Set first skill to max level first Prioritizing this makes the base damage of this skill higher That means, the enemy will be receiving more damage Prioritize second skill next because the shield granted could help you be more durable Prioritize third skill less since this skill can be stacked up to 3 times You just have to make sure you save the charges and use it wisely when you need it the most Always upgrade your ultimate skill when available for upgrading Popol and Kupa’s passive skill is what you need to deal more damage to every single targettable entity out there Every time Popol attacks something, Kupa will also be attacking that thing, even turrets You can use Kupa to tank jungle monsters for you, making the jungle a safe haven for you He regenerates health when not taking damage after a few seconds,
so you don’t have to worry about Kupa’s health Always remember that Kupa could attack enemies even from far away, as long as it is within the radius With Kupa’s assistance, you can even just let him devour the enemy slowly, while you are cheering for the enemy to finish the last marathon of his life Take note that when Kupa dies, you can use your 1st and 2nd skill to pray to summon him back If you get attacked while you are praying, your prayer will be canceled because you should be praying peacefully Always take care of Kupa because praying to summon him again has a really long cool down So if ever Kupa is almost dying, you can use your 2nd skill to call him back to avoid further damage Also take note that Popol’s attributes are all inherited by Kupa, even equipment effects We have tested a few items if they will be inherited by Kupa But we will show you that later on the experiments section of this video Lastly, take note that after 4 consecutive attacks dealt by Kupa, Popol’s next basic attack is buffed and will deal amplified damage This is really good specially if that hit will deal Critical Damage Also keep in mind that when Popol dies, Kupa dies as well It just shows that Kupa is really loyal to Popol Popol and Kupa’s first skill is what you need to command Kupa specifically which hero to attack By throwing your spear towards the target, Kupa will be chasing after it and attack the target hit When Kupa is buffed by your ultimate skill, his first attack after the spear hits the target will stun the enemy, and will deal rapid bites afterwards This is a great skill for chasing enemies since this skill has a really long range Popol and Kupa’s second skill is what you need to protect Popol from the enemies Take note that using this will call Kupa towards you and will grant you a shield This shield could help you survive death somehow Also, if someone is chasing you, the slowing effect of this skill could help you flee from danger Also take note that Kupa will attack enemies nearby you after using this skill So he will be ravaging on the enemy chasing you while you commit your sweet escape When Kupa is buffed by your ultimate skill, the extra effect of this skill will knock up enemies nearby you airborne This is really good specially if some enemies try to target and kill you first You can just let Kupa crowd-control them, and walk a little bit to keep your distance and finish them off Popol and Kupa’s third skill is what you need to immobilize enemies and have a vision of the battlefield You can place up to 3 traps in the battlefield When 3 traps are already in the battlefield and you try to put another one, the first trap placed will disappear Each trap grants you vision in a small radius This is helpful if you want to avoid being ganked on your lane Just place traps on spots where you feel enemies will try to hide before they gank you Just make sure you replace the trap after a minute, because the traps disappear after a minute or when an enemy steps on it You can also use this when you are trying to gank an enemy Just place traps ahead to make it difficult for them to reroute for their escape If they get enticed by the shiny trap you placed, then that’s even better Keep in mind also that enemies could see your traps So better hide them inside a bush to bring an element of surprise to the enemies You can also use this skill to check the bush if there is a hidden enemy or not Popol and Kupa’s ultimate skill is what you need to buff Popol and Kupa They are both buffed with additional attack and movement speed While Kupa restores his full health, gets an increased max health points, and additional Physical Attack This skill is best used when you are going to engage in team fights You can also use this to heal Kupa when he is about to die in the battlefield The movement speed bonus from this skill could also help you chase enemies or escape death Here we go again with our experiments We will test some scenarios against Popol and Kupa which could either benefit them, or destroy them Before we head over to hero experiments, let’s test items on Popol and Kupa first Let’s test different items on Popol and Kupa if what will be inherited by Kupa or not Let’s test Windtalker Both of them dealt the Magic Damage from its unique passive Now for Endless Battle, when you use your first skill and deal the next basic attack, both of them still dealt True Damage For Demon Hunter Sword, both of them deals the extra damage to the enemy For critical chance items, both of them also deals critical hits For lifesteal items, Kupa’s basic attack regenerates health for him and not for us So let’s assume that most of the item effects are inherited by Kupa But take note that unique passive of items like Immortality and Athena’s shield won’t be inherited by Kupa But effects of Cursed Helmet is inherited by Kupa Now let’s head over to our hero testing First, let’s test their relationship against Lesley’s ultimate skill
Lesley’s ultimate skill will shoot 4 Fatal Bullets that could kill us Let’s see if we can have Kupa block it for us As you can see, we can’t control where Kupa goes So, if you rely on Kupa to block the bullets for you, he could either protect you, or betray you Next up, we have Bruno Bruno’s ultimate skill shoots a ball that bounces on enemies Take note that Kupa always follow Popol So, if Bruno uses his ultimate skill with just Popol and Kupa around, both of them will be playing “Catch the Ball” happily while waiting for their inevitable death Same goes for Odette’s passive Both Popol and Kupa will again play “Catch the Note” and all they could do is just sing along with their death song How about let’s try Nana’s 2nd skill Nana’s 2nd skill summons Molina which chases enemy heroes to transform them into a cute little kitty Let’s see if we can rely on Kupa to block Molina for us As you can see, Molina just ignored Kupa and still transformed us Does this mean that Kupa is not considered a hero unit? We will see about that later Let’s now have Johnson Let’s test if Johnson could let Kupa ride inside him As you can see, Kupa doesn’t go with strangers and still followed social distancing How about if Johnson lets Popol ride inside him without Kupa Will Kupa be left behind? As you can see, upon Popol riding Johnson, Kupa went in as well This just shows Kupa’s loyalty towards Popol I hope they both have hand sanitizers with them Now let’s have Franco Franco’s 1st skill can pull enemies hit towards him With Kupa randomly walking around Popol, this will definitely give Franco a hard time hooking Popol Franco’s ultimate skill could also be used against Kupa Now, let’s have Kaja Kaja’s ultimate skill immobilizes and pulls a target hero unit with him Now this is the scenario where we can really see if Kupa is a hero unit or not Oh em gee As you can see, Kaja was able to use his ultimate skill on Kupa This is confusing because Nana’s Molina didn’t transform Kupa, but Kaja was able to use his ultimate skill on Kupa So probably we can say that Kupa is a hybrid unit So if you are using Kaja, better aim well so you won’t use your ultimate skill accidentally on Kupa, not unless you want a cute wolf pet Lastly, given that we think of Kupa as a hybrid unit, we now have Faramis His ultimate skill revives fallen ally heroes Let’s see if Kupa will also be revived by this As you can see, Kupa was not revived by the ultimate skill of Faramis This is really sad to see Popol’s pet leaving this planet But good thing his prayers are powerful enough to summon Kupa back In terms of his combo, we recommend using two combos depending on the situation In the situation that you are going to gank an enemy, you should take note of this combo First, plant a trap behind the enemy This will make the enemy’s escape more difficult because he will try avoiding the trap, not unless he wants to be caught in your loving arms Then, use your ultimate skill to enhance your succeeding skills and attacks Then, use your first skill to throw a spear to hurt the enemy and this will command Kupa to attack the target Kupa’s attack will be stunning the target because of the enhanced effects from your ultimate skill buff Then, deal basic attacks If the enemy goes nearby you, use your 2nd skill to call Kupa You gain a shield with this and Kupa will jump beside you which will knock up the enemies nearby airborne Then, continue dealing basic attacks If ever the enemy tries to escape further, just place your traps a little bit ahead of them to immobilize them again In terms of team fights, you can follow this combo instead First, use your ultimate skill Then, use your 1st skill to stun the target with Kupa Then, set a trap ahead of the enemy to ensure he is not going anywhere Then, just use your 2nd skill if ever the enemy dive in and is beside you Additional Tip: Killing another being is illegal So sometimes, you should just let Kupa be stained with the enemy’s blood, so you can sleep at night without your conscience bugging you The tips I mentioned are just some of the ways you can use Popol and Kupa This video just guides you on how to use Popol and Kupa, the Kurumi way We would like to thank our Wakandian brother, Rackatan, for being our lab rat for this boot camp You can search for him in-game and tell him how much you appreciate him, willing to sacrifice his pride and honor to be a test subject Do not forget to like and share this video Also subscribe to our channel for more contents by clicking on the subscribe and bell button For our skin giveaway events, check out the Community Tab for the giveaway event post We have our coffee account just in case you want to donate us some coffee funds Check our coffee link on the description of this video Please, only trust Boot Camp videos from our official accounts See you on the next Mobile Legends Boot Camp!
